BEST CUMMINS ENGINE REPAIR IN SOUTH TEXAS !!

Best Cummins Engine Repair in Edinburg Texas

We are doing a Cummins engine swap on this 2015 International Truck.  The old engine had a hole in the block. Due to a hole in block customer considered a new engine but his old engine was not a good core. Core charges right now can run in 1,000's of dollars.Due to this, he decided to get a used engine instead, the junkyard where we purchased used engines will take a hole in the block as a good core. What does remove and installing an engine take? Turn around time is usually a week on most engine swaps. We start by removing the hood, front bumpers, and scan the computer before we remove batteries. We print out all codes for the computer. We then disconnect batteries and start to label all connectors. We disconnect wire by wire making sure not to cut anything. All water and oil are drained. All hoses are removed with care to reuse, no cutting, and no unnecessary expenses. Every truck is almost the same. We remove drive shafts to transmission, loose all rear and front motor mounts. We remove the radiator, air to air, fan to get ready to remove motor with transmission through the front. After a few hours of preparing, we are ready to remove the engine and transmission. We get one of our forklifts to tie up the engine and take it out of the truck.
We set the engine on the engine stand after we remove the transmission.  We stand up both engine the one we removed and the one we are installing. Move over several parts like a computer, water fittings, fuel lines, and inspect all parts before installation. Most junkyards give you 90 days warranty on used engines. So the engine is turned on and checked before we put them in. After swapping all parts, we install transmission on the engine and almost ready to be put in. Diesel mechanic checks motor mounts to see if they need to be replaced. We pressure wash frame before putting in the used engine. After prepping, diesel mechanic ties up the engine with forklift ready to install.
We have a great team of diesel mechanics and diesel mechanic assistant to sit this engine down on the truck. Once it's aligned properly, we bolt down the front and rear motor mounts. We then install the drive shaft on the rear of the transmission. In the front, we install fan back on, install the radiator, air to air, a/c compressor, and start to put back all hoses and all electrical connections. Once we have all electrical connection back on, we install new batteries, add engine oil, water, and clean and connect batteries. If the truck has been parked for a while, we inspect the fuel system.
This truck came in towed because it had been parked for a few months. We removed all fuel in tanks, clean out the fuel system, all hoses, new filters, and added new clean diesel. This truck turned on without missing a beat.
Jorge will look over these entire engine swaps step by step, making sure we don't overlook any system. The truck was put to do a re-gen. We do a computer scan on the engine, found a bad nos sensor. Removed and replace the nos sensor.
Our diesel mechanic completes oil change with a complete inspection of the truck. We check all fluids on transmission, rear ends, do a complete grease job, and brake adjustment.
We found a few air leaks, re Teflon fittings, change a valve, and change some air fittings on the steering axle. Jorge took this truck out for a good 30-minute drive to check truck performance.
Jorge arrived at the shop, temperatures good, a/c working good, re-scan computer, no codes.
Jorge felt a vibration so we checked u joints and carrier bearing. U joint was replaced in front of the rear differential.
Jorge test drove again and the truck was ready to be turned in. The owner of vehicle and Jorge went out on a test drive and the customer left happy to get back to work.
